The Daily Sanctified Grind

It's your 100th time doing the same thing. You begin your day with same stale coffee.  The sun is shining, piercing, fiery colors of orange, purple, and pink.  It's a grand morning, but you don't enjoy it because inside of you there's a war brewing between the forces of yesterday and tomorrow.  Stuck between those two poles is the dreaded today.  So you lock the door and get into your car...

At work your mind is bored you begin to question yourself, "Why am I doing this?"  You know the reason. You need to make money, but still you can't help feeling that all is pointless in this monotonous drudgery.   Worse off you don't have anyone to give you that once in a while, "atta boy" pat on the back.  Instead as you are reflecting upon these things you hear your boss's voice, "faster, faster."  You become discouraged, life feels stagnant.   You are doing the same thing over and over again; days pass, months pass, years...You are the same person, nothing has changed, there is a growing restlessness.

You suddenly begin thinking of your friends, who seem to have it better.  You want to desperately cross to their greener pastures. You have had enough.  You feel like quitting, but then you remember something that makes all of this grind worthwhile,

"Add a supernatural motive to your ordinary professional work and you will have sanctified it."  (359) from "The Way" St. Josemaria Escriva
Then it begins to dawn on you that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
