Our governent: Do they really have our backs?

In light of the recent investigations of would be times square bomber, Faisal Shahzad I find it disturbing that the only thing that saved our country was the incompetence of a stupid terrorist.  The same thing happened on Christmas Day when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attempted to blow up a plane with an underwear bomb, but was unsuccessful.

The gross incompetence of our government, particularly this administration is frightening and at worst criminal.  Part of the reason for this gross incompetence is the fact is that our current administration is obsessed with political correctness.  Our administration is too scared to call these terrorists for what they really are, ISLAMIC Fascists.  By avoiding this confrontation with reality our government is side stepping a key piece of understanding the cultural factors of terrorism. Islam is not just a religion, it is an entire culture, a way of life for much of the Arab world.  Imagine if these foiled, bombing attacks were caused by Christians or better yet Catholics? I would argue that our government would not be so careful in not trying to offend Christians and Catholics, and yet our administration and military is so quick to prevent Franklin Graham from praying for our troops over a comment that he made about Muslims?  (What makes this even more appalling is that fact that Graham's son is currently on his fourth tour of duty in Afghanistan.)  Now I am not implying that all Muslims are terrorists, but what's the one common denominator in these two attacks? Both victims subscribed to a radicalized version of Islam. We can not simply shirk this reality because it is not convenient, nor because we are scared of the Muslim backlash.

But what do we get instead? An administration that does not have the courage or the willingness to confront terrorism head on. The pages of history are full of appeasers, Neville Chamberlain, President James Buchanan, Jimmy Carter, the entire country of France. The gross ineptitude's and weaknesses of these leaders had disastrous consequences.  It is my fear that our administration is following the same path of our esteemed hall of fame list and is not doing all that it can to protect our country. It is my fear that in the future that these terrorists won't be so dumb and that eventually they will be successful. By then it will be too late, lives will be lost, another lesson not learned. How many more Ft. Hood's do we need until we learn our lesson?  And this is the same government that wants to control our health care?
